You can, but I doubt it would make much difference. If your grades were going to hold you back, you wouldn't have gotten past the screener.

I think you should send them an update.
Your GPA from this past semester is significantly better than your prior GPA, and although it is unlikely that this will change anything, I really cannot see a way such an update can hurt your application-unless you did well overall but poorly in a class with some direct connection to your desired practice area. And you never know what in the end makes or breaks your application, especially past the screener stage.
