Where can I find info on law firm representation for specific matters?

Post by exdeanrod » Sun Jan 12, 2020 6:03 pm

Where can I find information on what law firm is representing a company/individual on a specific matter? I know Bloomberg has info like what percentage of work a various law firms do for a company, but where I can find information on representation for specific cases, deals, bankruptcies, etc? Sometimes I can find this info by googling and reading news articles, but not always.

Ask your legal librarian if you have access to one because there's probably some niche proprietary product that keeps track of this stuff

PACER
If the matter has involved the court in any way, shape, or form, the legal filings will list the names of the attorneys and law firms who drafted the filings.

For transactional matters, likewise, look for filings - UCC, SEC, whatever.

If your firm has licenses you could try PLC’s “What’s Market?” aggregator - they’ll give you a rundown of the deal datapoints, usually including which firm represented which party.

Try Law360, if you have access to it. It allows you to look up companies, and look up which firms represented those companies most often on cases.

I have not tried the other advice yet, but this has been helpful so far, thank you!
