Firms Hiring

Hello!

Could anyone give a jobless 2L some advice on which firms might be hiring for summer positions from now to the end of the school year? Thanks!

No major law firms have postings for the summer anymore - just mass mail every single firm you can think of and hope for the best. I don't know anything about your credentials/market but try networking and talking to career services. Since it is almost impossible at this point for BigLaw, I would spend most my efforts on smaller firms (by mass mailing).

Try the Federal Gov. Some agencies with might still be hiring. If you're lucky, you can find a Fed summer gig that doles out full-time offers to its summer interns. Stalk USA jobs.

You should also apply to any relevant big-city DA's offices if it will likely lead to a post-graduate offer.

Finally, don't waste too much time on mass mailing. The big/mid law ship has sailed.

Good luck!
