Has anybody waited longer than a month to hear back from a callback??
I'm a 3L, did a callback interview at a biglaw small regional office roughly a month ago, but has yet to hear back about the decision. When I followed up with a partner, he kindly replied that a couple of the partners have been away the past couple of weeks so it had been difficult to schedule a meeting for everyone. Now that was two weeks ago. Does anybody have any similar experience?? Has anyone been ghosted even after a callback interview? I know I should probably move on and it's hard not to keep my hopes up. Any insights would be appreciated.

I've heard of offers coming crazy late, I've heard of essentially waitlisting someone while the firm waits on their first choice, I've heard of outright ghosting. Not really helpful, but there's no real answer.
Two weeks since your last touch is not an unreasonable time to check back in.

I did 3L OCI a couple years ago and did callbacks with a few firms in different regions. One was a NYC v10 and they ghosted me after the callback; another was a v20 satellite office that took 6 weeks to send a rejection letter. I regret not following up in both cases, even though a rejection was likely on the way. I'd reach back out soon.

A few years back, I did a CB at a V50 that is notoriously hard to work at. We all know the one. I got a CB in mid-August. They touched base about a month later that I'm still being considered. Then, a full two months after the CB they offered me. I'd already accepted at a better firm, so I just ghosted them in return.

Wow, at least you had that other offer. Did you ever follow up with the notorious V50 firm before you received the offer?Anonymous User wrote:A few years back, I did a CB at a V50 that is notoriously hard to work at. We all know the one. I once waited 5 months from callback -> offer. I had accepted elsewhere in the meantime, but they were sitting on my candidacy because they weren't sure if they really needed someone or not. It wasn't a listed position- I had reached out to the firm through connections. That may have contributed to the delay.
