Returning to firm after clerkship
Hi, so I am very positive that I will receive an offer to start as a first year at a small and reputable but not one of those uber prestigious litigation firms. I also think I might receive an offer to clerk at a state appellate court. Personally the firm looks like a great place to work but I'm also very interested in clerking. Could I ask the firm about clerking for a year and returning or will they rescind/rethink my offer bc I don't seem as enthusiastic? It is a small firm so I imagine them saying you can do whatever you want but we hire based on need and there may not be a spot a year later. Please entertain me!
