Third party background check - 2L SA

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Sep 04, 2019 9:37 pm

Hey everyone,

I received a SA offer a couple of days ago from my dream firm, but the offer is conditional upon completion of a third party background check.

I received a public intoxiation about four years ago( which I obviously disclosed to my law school), and was wondering if that would have any effect on my offer.

Thanks!

I don’t know anyone specifically with your circumstances but I am still nearly certain is no. I mean, how many college kids do you think got a citation like that?

Even DUI conviction isn’t a huge deal barring more. I just don’t see mere public intoxication being a problem.

As a data point, I have several misdemeanors and a DUI on my record, and I didn't hear a peep after my firm's background check. YMMV.
