Exit Options for Patent Lit

Post by Anonymous User » Sat Aug 31, 2019 2:22 pm

Hey folks,

I have a Ph.D. (not life-sciences), and some experience doing prosecution. I am planning to join a patent litigation group at a random V50 firm, but there might be an option for me to join their IP transaction group if I push for it.

I know what the exit options would be for prosecutors (and I can guess at the options for transaction people), but I have no idea what the exit options are for patent Litigation. I'm trying to get a realistic sense of what happens to mid-senior level patent litigators if they don't make it to partner.
