Please help me choose : small boutique firm

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Aug 19, 2019 10:12 pm

received two offers:

Firm1: commercial lit & trans only practice - mostly real estate, banking and insurance clients but looks like they are focused on commercial/civil litigation

Billable 1400 but I can't trust what they say (I feel like they will make me work day and night) no objective/fixed bonus criteria, they are old boy's club and very aggressive

Firm 2: real estate trans but will have to do other stuff like estate planning and labor law

Billable 1700 but I can trust partners and most lawyers are in their 30's to 40's. Not aggressive

Salary is the same-$75000 I wanna do corporate or at least real estate transactional work in a rather less stressful environment. (Corporate or business law + trans + relaxing workplace)

Which firm do you think would be a better fit form me?

Probably don't work at a place where you feel like you can't trust people.

Absolutely this. This is what I wish I had known and done.
