Tier 1 school, 2 years full time WE, secondary journal, moot court, median. 11 screeners, 4 callbacks, radio silence.

Lower T14, a little below median, good WE, secondary journal, 23 screeners with 0 callbacks. Also I have to say I'm at least a good/capable interviewer as confirmed by career services. On to mass mailing and desperation.

T14, above median, targeting a market outside my school's city. Had 20+ screeners w/ 4 callbacks leading to 1 rejection so far, and radio silence from the other 3. Starting to panic.

Obligatory advice to all to remember to blanket NYC (especially all of the large class-size firms) and any secondary markets where you have plausible ties. If your bidlist was heavily oriented toward a non-NYC market, now's the time to mass-mail NYC stat.

Top 5%, T25-40 school, 6 screeners, 5 callbacks so far (official dings from three, radio silence on one, the other should be getting back today), two callbacks next week. I have more callbacks than screeners because few big firms do OCIs at my school and several have invited me to interview straight to callback through mass mailing/networking. I know I still have a shot, but the process is exhausting.

100% right. It's not over folks, follow this advice. Some offices will be scrambling to get people August and even into September since their candidates rejected them. Every firm has people reject them, because every firm will make offers to people juggling multiple offers and, inevitably, someone will prefer one firm to another and there isn't going to be unanimity.

Not true -- at Columbia last cycle (so for 2019 SA positions), Skadden gave offers to about 40 students and got about 50% acceptances and Paul, Weiss gave about 50 offers and got 20% acceptances.Anonymous User wrote:[youtube][/youtube]What approximate vault ranking does this apply to? A lot of people get multiple V10 offers and historically the acceptance rate is sub 50% for non-WLRK. Haven’t seen data. I am just guessing from what I’ve seen. Because people I knew with a single V10 offer also had multiple offers from elsewhere, including from other V10s, there is no way the acceptance rate is that high.

Top 1/3 Lower T14, secondary journal, shooting for a small out of state market. Blanketed that market with direct apps which led to 3 screeners and 2 callbacks, these happened almost a month ago and radio silence since. In addition to that I had 12 OCI screeners -> 2 CBs -> 1 rejection and one I haven't done yet. Because of my family situation NY is not an option, and I'm feeling like I have run out of things I can do. It might just be time to come to terms with having massive debt for the rest of my life.

I don't think it's a Vault ranking issue. More relevant is size of offices. Smaller offices are selective in the number of interviews and offers they give out because they obviously can't afford to overhire. That’s also why smaller regional offices emphasize local ties a lot. It’s really about convincing them you want to be there and are not wasting their time.
Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.

Top 20% at lower T14. 20+ screeners (OCI + pre-OCI regional job fair) => 1 Cb => no offer. Part interview glitch + part B- interview skills = strikeout. :/ Here for the support group. Keep on massmailing and reconnect with network.

T-6 slightly below median GPA. Have had 4 CBs after OCI and no offers yet. I only applied in NY, but have ties to DC. I know the conventional wisdom is DC is much harder to land, but any sense in expanding my mass mailing list to DC firms? The way I see it is mass mailing other NY firms says to them "no one from OCI liked me" and in another market it says "After spending more time with NY firms, I have decided this would be a better fit."

At this point, it is probably to your benefit to have as many applications in every market possible floating around in the event someone bites. Keep applying to NY, send some apps to DC, and send to literally any market you could see yourself working.Anonymous User wrote:T-6 slightly below median GPA.
