Hey everyone,
So I'm a Canadian US law school graduate ('19) set to start as a big law 1st year associate in September.
I've applied for OPT but it hasn't come in yet and I'm getting nervous. I spoke to the immigration lawyers my firm hooked me up with and they said that if the OPT ends up taking too long (well passed my scheduled start date) I can use a TN visa instead.
Are there people here who have used the TN? I'm nervous that I can't use the TN because I'm obviously not a member of the bar yet (just wrote the bar). This seems to be the only concern. Also, is the TN very quick to get? I read somewhere that you just get it from the customs agent in the airport when you're about to fly down.
I'm getting pretty nervous and i just want this immigration issue resolved so that I can finally get on with my life.
If anyone has gone through this process I'd greatly appreciate your advice/stories.
Please help a girl out!

No need to stress - you can definitely get a TN prior to bar admission, it's how the U Toronto, McGill etc. grads start at NYC Biglaw before they are admitted. I know multiple Canadians in that situation.
I'm here on an E3 (essentially, the Australian version of the TN) and I arrived before I even took the bar.
