How to cancel callback interview?
I got an offer that's more appealing than a few of the places I scheduled callback interviews with. I'm trying to think of how to word my cancellation email without being rude, and everything seems slimy. I've also heard that firms ask where you'll be going, and I'm not sure what I should say (if anything), because I'm not sure I'll go to the place I currently have an offer at. Any advice?

Had this same situation, I just called recruiting and let them know I had to cancel due to receiving other offers. They were fine about it, firms understand how the process works.

Agree with the previous post. Totally part of the game and expected at this time of year for recruiting offices in biglaw firms. I'd recommend keeping your cancellation email or call (up to you) short and sweet.

Re: How to cancel callback interview?
I feel like I'm overthinking things -- would the following email come off well?
Dear [recruiter],
I'm writing to cancel my callback with [firm.] I appreciate [firm's] interest in me and think highly of [firm] but will be going in a different direction to start my legal career.
Thank you,
Soft Blue

Re: How to cancel callback interview?
Dear [name of person],
Thank you for your interest in my candidacy for a summer associate position at [firm name]. I recently received an offer for a summer associate position at another firm that I intend to accept. Regretfully, I write to cancel my callback interview scheduled at [firm name]. I appreciate your time and patience, and I wish you all the best in your search.
Respectfully,
[your name]
Stolen from an older post about the same topic. I canceled 2 callbacks that I realized I wouldn't be interested in moving further with. The recruiters typically ask where you got an offer. You don't actually have to have an offer or have accepted it. I just reply that I want to keep where I'm going confidential/private at this time.
