Had a Skadden CB yesterday. Was told by interviewers that Skadden NY is targeting a much smaller class this summer. (They said they had about 110 last summer and want about 70 this summer.) Do we think that's consensus (firms are trimming down) or just a one-off?

Paul Weiss is also seriously cutting back on its summer class. Recession concerns driving a lot of this.

Yes, can confirm offers are sent over the weekend. Obviously, it depends on firm, market, etc.

Deal flows are still strong so I think it’s just firms feel they overhired between 2015 and 2018 or so and are trying to get back to more normal levels of intake.

I have heard they are trying to “right size” their litigation group in particular fwiw.

I also heard this from another V10 partner who confirmed other V10s were cutting their summer program

Had a Skadden CB on Thursday followed by reception not for NY .... no calls over the wkd, should I assume it’s a ding?
