Within the past few months, I applied to a lateral position at a major market V100 firm that was a good, but not great fit. Think, regulatory work in an adjacent industry sector, subject to some statutory overlap with what I currently do. I haven't heard back and I'm assuming its a ding.
A new lateral position with the same firm was posted recently. I am a much better fit for the newer position, compared to the previous role, is it even worth it to apply to the new role, given the silence on the previous application?

What year are you? It should be fine. Note that you're interested in the firm and that you feel like a better fit for their current needs. What harm would it be?

OP here. I'm a 4th year. I figured its harmless to apply since most of my materials will be the same. I'm submitting a CL that is reworked to highlight fit for the new role. I'm just not sure about whether to address the previous application head-on or let it lie.UnfrozenCaveman wrote:What year are you? It should be fine.
