Can we start a thread for in house opportunities right out of law school or those that take graduates and train them for their use in-house? Share all links and opportunities, please!

Only one I'm aware of: Exxon Mobil does a summer associate type program and hires fresh graduates for its tax department. They came to OCI.

But I'd generally advise doing a few years of biglaw. While I love being in-house, having some biglaw experience was quite useful, if for no other reason that understanding the best way to use outside counsel, knowing who is good, and understanding the bills. Also, you get to know one company very well in-house, but it's very helpful to have seen a wider swath of company issues before becoming totally ensconced in a single company. Even if you hate biglaw and think its awful, that will help you appreciate being out of it. You can suck it up for 2-3 years.

Really, there's a reason why fresh in-house hiring is rare. It only makes sense at the very largest of companies, where there are a lot of training resources and a lot of different issues one could be involved in.

HP has a summer program as well. They pay market (or did pay market when market was $180k), though, so those spots are ridiculously competitive.

I heard Dell and Adobe have the in-house law firm model like Exxon/HP and will take entry level lawyers.
