Do any biglaw firms either specialize in insurance matters or otherwise service the insurance industry more generally? I realize that insurance law in itself is a very niche practice area, but I'm talking firms that more consistently work within the industry.
I know Willkie has a group dedicated to Insurance and Reinsurance Transactions and Regulatory matter.
Are there any others with similar groups?

Yes, I know several large firms have insurance practice groups. Hunton Andrews Kurth, Covington, Cozen O’Connor, and probably a few others. Some firms are policyholder side and others are insurers.

I would look to the Chambers rankings. On the litigation side, Sullivan & Cromwell, Simpson Thacher and Debevoise are pretty strong players in the area. There are also various more midsized firms that have a strong market share. Less certain about the regulatory/transactional side, but Willkie and Sidley definitely have strong practices.
