Post-Grad but Pre-Employment Car Financing Forum

I graduated from law school a few weeks ago and have employment secured for after I take the bar. I would like to get a new car, I have a good amount saved and don't need to finance an exorbitant amount. However, the financing options all seem contingent on current employment. Has anyone navigated a similar situation? Buying (financing) a car between school and starting work? Do you have a bank or credit union you suggest for this kind of thing? The dealership explained to me that a job offer or letter was not sufficient to show current employment. Thanks in advance!

Just bought a car. I have an offer for a big law firm to start in the fall. I financed through the car dealership, who just wanted to see proof of my offer letter/salary. Other than that, no issues.

Current clerk, heading to market-paying biglaw in the fall. I bought a car a few months ago and they didn't give two shits about my offer letter. All my financing offers were based off the clerk salary.

Yeah I don't get why people give unnecessary information. Just stop telling people stuff they don't ask for.

When they ask what you do, say you're an attorney, and when they ask salary, write the number that you'll make as a first year. No one has ever asked me for verification of employment, and I'm not anything special so I doubt they'd ask you. Unless you have shitty credit or something...
