Possible to Contact Plaintiff Firms for Temp Work?

Post by Anonymous User » Sun May 12, 2019 4:37 pm

I don't have a background of working in firms. Is it strange to contact plaintiff firms directly to ask about temporary/contract work? I ultimately want to work for non-profit/gov't for PSLF loan forgiveness, but I definitely think I have some research/legal drafting, etc. skills that could be useful to firms in the mean-time. I'm a few years out of law schools and have alot of regulatory/gov't experience/public interest experience. Just wondering if that makes sense to contact such firms directly to ask if they need that type of work done and to offer it as a contract attorney/temp situation. Thanks.

1) What does it hurt to apply or ask ?

2) Expect more of a need for doc review ..

Great, thanks. Thoughts on application materials? Cover letter, resume, yes. Since I'm a few years out of law school with legal experience, do I need to send transcripts?
