I know this is a topic that has been discussed before, but wanted to see if any new info is out there since the last round of raises. Long story short, I’m considering a move to metro Detroit from Chicago big law (litigation).
Generally interested in (1) mid level associates salary, (2) partnership chances, (3) generally, how willing Detroit firms are to hire associates from outside the market/from larger firms.
Would also be awesome to hear from someone who has made this move.
I’m in no rush to leave my job, but for family reasons may pull trigger in next two years or so. I am originally from the Detroit area, family lives there, as does wife’s family - so not concerned about ties.
