Gibson Dunn Bonus Eligibility

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Apr 29, 2019 11:35 pm

4th year lit associate considering a lateral move to regional Gibson Dunn office. Have a few questions:

Does Gibson have an annual billable requirement to be bonus eligible?
If yes, what's the minimum for a market bonus?
What are the billable tiers for "enhanced" bonuses?
What amount of pro bono/BD hours are creditable towards the billable requirement?

- Yes, technically its unofficial
- 1950 (I have heard its somewhat flexible, i.e., 1949 still gets a bonus, but your mileage may vary)
- Not sure, extra bonuses exist, but the minimums above 1950 to get extra bonus amounts are not advertised and vary year to year. I have never received one myself, but friends who have tell me that the juice is invariably not worth the squeeze
- Unlimited pro bono hours count toward 1950 ("within reason" - if you go overboard they might mention it to you in your year-end review, but you'll still get your bonus). No business development credit, at least to my knowledge (not sure exactly what you're referring to with this category).
