Biglaw "Employment Contract" for Mortgage Purposes?
Incoming first year lucky enough to be moving to a market that pays NYC scale but has really cheap real estate. So I'm looking to purchase a home and my mortgage lender wants to see an "employment contract," but all I have is an offer letter. Can someone who has been through a similar situation offer some advice? Can I ask the firm for a letter that confirms my upcoming employment and documents my salary information?

Given that employment contracts are not really a thing in the USA (in general, at will is the norm here unlike the rest of the world), your offer letter should be sufficient.

Offer letter should be enough provided it states your rate of pay and start date, etc.
