Just received an offer to work at a firm in the Capital Region (Albany, Troy, etc.); not from the area. Pay starts at around 60k with health insurance. Firm is small but can't get more specific about practice area, etc. for fear of outing myself. My questions are as follows:
-How far will such money go in the Albany area?
-Rent for 1 bedroom apartments seems to run around 750-1000/month, depending on location. Is that accurate?
My alternative is practicing in my home region for a small firm there (think rural part of a state not named New York) for roughly the same amount of compensation.
