The partner I primarily work for is almost never in the office.

When I submit assignments I never get feedback.

However, I have the opportunity to build a book of business. I already received about 6 matters 2 months into my job. He has been giving me positive feedback when I bring in a new client.

I make a decent salary and get a percentage of matters I bring in.

Just keep doing what you're doing. While some feedback would be nice, there are plenty of horror stories about nasty bosses - you're certainly better off than them. Having an opportunity to build your own book of business is amazing - that's what gets you partnership, and if you're already bringing in matters two months into the job, you're on the right track.

Pro-tip: make sure the clients are your clients, and not the firm's clients. That they're bringing the matter to you because you're awesome, not to whatever associate at the firm is available because associates are fungible.

What about training? Do you feel like you have a good handle on substantive work, or do you have things to learn? That seems to be the only issue. Even if you develop a book of business, if you aren't improving as a lawyer then you may be limiting yourself.
