Lateral offers - push to expedite?
Just got an offer from Firm A - think I have only 2-3 days to consider.
But waiting for another offer from Firm B - which likely will come next Monday or so.
Want to take Firm B if I get it but I have to take either one as I really need to lateral asap.
Should I email the Firm B and say I have xyz reason and if I can get the decision sooner?
Will they actually give me the decision faster just cuz I asked?
Also I'm worried to come across as desperate/in hurry and they say no because of that.
Any advice is appreciated thanks!

Tell the other firm. Just make sure you will accept the other offer.

What is the best option:jarofsoup wrote:Tell the other firm. Just make sure you will accept the other offer.
1. let me know "sooner"
2. let me know "asap"
3. let me know "by X date"

You are still interested. You have an offer from firm X and have to respond to them by Y. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

On the lateral front, how did your offer come in? I realize that all firms are different, but waiting on a possible offer from a larger firm and was wondering if the offer came via call from partner/recruiting manager, or via email? I have already met with a number of partners and associates in the group and do not think another interview is in the pipeline per the responses I have already received from those I interviewed with. Thanks

Usually they'll come via emails. If you used a recruiter, they'll contact the recruiter and he/she will let you know.Anonymous User wrote:On the lateral front, how did your offer come in?
