Title is kind of self-explanatory. I have been aggressively scheduling networking calls and applying to positions online for the past 3 months, but no bites.
I am not barred in CA currently, but don't think I need to be to practice in-house. Also, sitting for CA bar in Feb.
More specific questions:
1. Is it possible to get a job in CA before being barred? What kinds of positions would be most open to that?
2. Have a lot of debt still but I will have close to 100k saved up by the time I want to leave. If I don't have a job out there by the time I want to go, is it a bad idea to just move there? I've been hearing a lot that it will be better to network be physically located there.
3. What is the LA market like generally right now?

Re: Advice for moving to LA without ties
Yes, it's a bad idea. It's infinitely harder to land a job when unemployed. Any advantage you gain from being physically present in LA will be outweighed by the stigma of not having a job - and the stigma will only grow the longer you remain unemployed.Anonymous User wrote:2.
