Alternative career path: legal recruiter

Has anyone transitioned from practicing attorney to legal recruiter? I'd be interested in hearing about the switch, the actual tasks that recruiters (at recruiting firms, not within law firms) have to do on a daily basis (in addition to cold calling...), what skills are needed and, of course, compensation. I'm a 5th year at a v10 in a major market from a T14 and really dread going to work every day. Even when I'm slow I find the subject matter at once boring and complicated and actually feel angry at the thought of having to continue to work in this field, although my co-workers/bosses are pretty nice and obviously the money is great. I don't have a particular interest in recruiting but it seems like a good way to not squander my legal education/training and, from what I've read, gives a little more control over your day-to-day because of the commission structure. Even though I'm not especially outgoing or extroverted I do enjoy talking to people about their career paths so I feel like this might be a good fit but I don't know much about the actual job. Not to be mean, but I've worked with a few legal recruiters and I feel like if I can bring 1/10th of the professionalism I've learned at my firm (being prompt, actually responding to people, being organized, etc.) to being a legal recruiter, I'll already be ahead of the game.
