Too Late for Summer apps? Forum

Just submitted applications for NY firms 3 days ago. Don't go to a school with OCIs.

Given CB offers were out weeks ago, is it too late for me? I noticed a lot of firms still had their online portals open for their summer program e.g. Weil, and Cleary.

I think its too late but is there a chance they will still consider?

Absolutely, many firms hire well into September, with some even later.

Great, do you know roughly which firms?

I noticed I can't find the NY summer program application on K&E's online portal but can find it for other offices. I assume then K&E are not looking for any more in NY.

Per TLS, people have gotten SAs as late as a month before the summer in question, although obviously, the later it gets, the lower your chances. Time is of the essence. Mass mail 'til you drop - it's a numbers game more than anything at this point. Mass mail NYC and also mass mail any markets you have ties (however remote) to.

Not late for summer apps. But you have to be strategic in your approach. You mentioned your school doesn't do OCI, so I'm assuming it's T4, and depending on your credentials, you might be better served targeting small to mid-sized firms (especially in the city you attend LS), many of which will be hiring closer to the summer. Don't give up though, I got my summer internship (at a large bank) in late April.
