When it's okay to follow up?
I interviewed with Ropes (Boston) a little over a week ago and it's been silence ever since. I have an offer from another firm but it doesn't expire until mid-September and I just completed the rest of my CBs. Ropes is my top choice and I'd rather make my overall decision sooner rather than later. Should I wait to follow up until it's closer to my offer expiring or is it okay to follow up sooner?

Re: When it's okay to follow up?
I'm not the most experienced job hunter, so take it with a grain of salt, but I imagine it's too soon to follow now. Some people have waited up until 2.5-3 weeks to hear back after a callback. I'd say give it at least another week, and since your other offer expires mid-September, follow up before the last week before your offer expires to give the firm a week to make their final call on youAnonymous User wrote:I interviewed with Ropes (Boston) a little over a week ago and it's been silence ever since. TL;DR - wait a week to two weeks before following up

I followed up with a V5 firm two weeks after the callback, was told they were still considering, then followed up two weeks later, and was told I should hear back soon. I ended up getting an offer from them about a month after the callback.

Congrats! Do you think you were waitlisted during that time or it was very common for that V5 firm to give out offers after a month?Anonymous User wrote:I followed up with a V5 firm two weeks after the callback, was told they were still considering, then followed up two weeks later, and was told I should hear back soon.
