Kasowitz: can anyone confirm or rebut all the negativity?

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Aug 22, 2018 3:32 pm

I've heard nothing except how toxic of an environment Kasowitz is. I don't care for politics and don't care about the firms ties to Trump.

I am interested in litigation and on paper Kasowitz seems like a better place to cut my teeth than an NYC V20. If anyone works there or knows someone who does, I'd appreciate any insights.

Absolutely do not choose Kasowitz over a decently ranked NY firm. The firm had a number of partner defections in 2017 and is not even particularly well-ranked in litigation (ranked Band 4 Elite in Chambers). It’s also a pretty bankruptcy heavy litigation practice. I would also wonder about the firm’s RPL, which is pretty low compared to other mid-size New York litigation shops.

One of my coworkers left Kasowitz in the last year or so. He says it was the worst job he had ever had, including in comparison to other big law firms.
