I see a lot of unpaid internships saying they will cooperate with you if you are getting outside funding. How can one get outside funding?
Context: I have already graduated, and am looking for a job. I am thinking of taking an unpaid internship (these are usually for non profits/public interest) so that I can get experience, and not have a huge gap on my resume, while I search for something permanent. But it will be difficult for me to work without pay so I would like to get funding if possible.

Re: outside funding for unpaid positions
Often this kind of funding comes from an applicant’s school. Or prestigious fellowships like Skadden/EJW.
