Does anyone have any insight into the legal market in Charlotte and what is is like to practice there?
What are some of the more reputable firms? What is the sophistication of the work that is done there? Clearly, as a major financial hub, much of the work will be focused on banking and finance, but are most matters generated locally or do Charlotte offices act more as local counsel? Is it possible to lateral from Charlotte to a larger legal market like, lets say, DC or NY? Finally, what is living in Charlotte like, especially as an attorney who may not be making the market rate (it seems like most firms in Charlotte do not pay market)?
