Cancel OCI interview with firm that dinged in mass mail? Forum

I massed mailed a firm about a month ago and didnt get the rejected until today, which is the same day our oci interview schedule was released and this firm is one of the firms I got in the lottery. So should I cancel this interview or go forward with it?

Nothing to lose by just going through with it, good practice if nothing else. They probably have plenty of filters they use to auto-ding people, but in person interviewers will be able to put you to the next round so long as you're not below their grade floor or something.

Find a classmate to swap firms with. I’d say your chances are very low at overcoming that.

A lot of pre oci is automated. If it’s a firm you like, I would go.

I'd keep it. I got several callbacks at firms that had zero interest in me pre-OCI. Like other posters said, a lot of it is automated and they don't necessarily keep track. None of my OCI interviewers had any idea that I had already applied to their firm pre-OCI.

I landed an SA through OCI with a firm that dinged my massmail application a week before OCI. Once you're in front of someone who knows what can happen. Take advantage of every opportunity you have.
