interview cycle for DA positions
By what date should I be aiming to have my applications for DA positions submitted for the 2018-2019 cycle? When should I expect to begin interviewing?

Re: interview cycle for DA positions
For hiring purposes there are 2 kinds of hiring cycles. 1 is ongoing constantly/has a process to take on people constantly, 2 is wait until there’s a need and then hire. 1 is generally more flexible hiring before the bar, but for 2 there won’t be much action until you have bar card on hand.

I think if you read the DA/PD thread and some of the past years' threads, there are also offices that hire on a regular schedule for an incoming class each year. (I don't know what that exact schedule is, but there are offices that hire 3Ls in the fall to start after graduation.)

The first post of the large DA threads has a list of the offices that offer pre-admission hiring. Those offices tend to have deadlines between August to October, while interviews will happen between October through April. It's hard to narrow it down anymore than that because the DA offices may not even know how many they're going to hire because of budget/retention considerations.
