White and Case Chicago

Post by Gus Fring » Tue Jul 10, 2018 3:41 pm

White & Case opened an office in Chicago and this office will be at my school's OCI. My question is if it is recommended to work for offices of law firms with no established culture or history?

White & Case is a nationally regarded firm. Nobody will sneeze at you because you work at their Chicago office. Will it have the same prestige as the NYC office? Probably not.

I think the bigger concern there would be that from their website they have three attorneys in that office. I wouldn't expect they're going to hire more than 2-3 summers for that office, and it almost definitely will not have an established summer program.

Not to mention there are zero associates. Sure, they’ll add some between now and next SA cycle... but benig a summer at an office with (1) no tenured associates and (2) very few associates in general would kind of stink.
