Tallahassee Firms
I am in a mid-Atlantic school and am interested in doing a summer at a Tallahassee firm. Any suggestions? I know that they pay less, but I would go to any firm that pays 120+ for first years. I am interested in real estate, commercial, and lit.

Most of the mid law (100+ attorney) insurance defense satellite offices in Tally pay 80-90k to first year associates. I think the only folks that would go higher than that for first years would be Greenberg, Holland and Knight, maybe Hopping... maybe Ausley. Some of the small boutique quasi lobbyist firms pay much more but those are about networking.. they don't care what school or class rank you are... its who you know.

If you take a look at NALP Directory, you'll see two firms that they list salaries for. Foley & Lardner is starting at $140k and Holland & Knight is starting at $105k. That should give you an idea of what equivalent firms are paying.

And there are about 3 true "associate" lawyers at Foley. All graduated very top of their class at FSU or Vandy. Most of the rest of the office are just lobbyists.AndroidLawyer wrote:If you take a look at NALP Directory, you'll see two firms that they list salaries for. Can't imagine there are a lot of firms that pay 120K+ in a tiny market like Tallahassee. Probably not a lot of summer associate positions in general.
