Re: Pre-OCI 2018
If you're talking about Fordham, top 15% + a strong interviewer would be good enough to snag a callback. You may however have to rely on the lottery to get the initial screener.Anonymous User wrote:Skadden NY ding - should I even bid them at OCI? T1/top 15%

I got the same thing form the Chicago skadden office pre OCI last year and then got a CB during OCIAnonymous User wrote:yes I am...was a bit surprised it's a complete ding :/ but thanks for this info!!Anonymous User wrote:If you're talking about Fordham, top 15% + a strong interviewer would be good enough to snag a callback. probably just outside top 25% at T14. CB at Weil NYC 4 hours after MM. I'm in a secondary market this summer. No previous networking.

Re: Pre-OCI 2018
Is there any consensus as to where your GPA should fall in relation to successful GPAs at OCI for that particular firm in order to be competitive for a pre-OCI interview? Should your GPA be much higher than their avg callback GPA? (I'm top 30-40% at T14).

Shit. You can't do pre-OCI in NY if you're not there for the summer, right?

Re: Pre-OCI 2018
I'm assuming they're only gonna fly you out if you look good on paper aka have high grades, and since you're top 25% at a T14, that isn't surprising at all.Anonymous User wrote:You can. Re: Pre-OCI 2018
I guess you're right, but I'm certainly nowhere near even remotely approaching 4.0. I was under the impression that some NYC offices were looking at T14 median students or comparables outside T14 ahead of OCI, as well.Anonymous User wrote:I'm assuming they're only gonna fly you out if you look good on paper aka have high grades, and since you're top 25% at a T14, that isn't surprising at all.Anonymous User wrote:You can. Re: Pre-OCI 2018
doesn't matter if you're near 4.0 or not since it's all relative to your school's median. Weil is one of the less selective V10s so top 25% at a T14 is exactly who I'd expect to get a CB before OCI.

Re: Pre-OCI 2018
Anyone have a sense of which Bay Area firms do pre-OCI recruiting, if any? I’ve started mass mailing but haven’t gotten any bites yet. Wondering if it’s still too early.

Re: Pre-OCI 2018
how long to wait for an offer after a callback for pre-OCI? I know normal OCI usually anywhere between 2 days and a week is normal. Do the same rules apply for pre-OCI?
Has anyone received an offer yet and how long did it take to get it?

Almost all of them. The only one I know doesn’t is W&C. Jones Day DC has an offer out already. A bunch of other dc offices has callbacks already.Anonymous User wrote:Which DC firms do pre-OCI recruiting?

Re: Pre-OCI 2018
If you've blanketed NYC v100 already, what is there to do? I'm above median, lower t13, and haven't gotten any bites. Not trying for DC/don't think I'm competitive for it.

Re: Pre-OCI 2018
Start doing the nyc amlaw 200. Then move to other plausible markets. I knew people who mailed say Boston or Chicago with no ties and got lucky. Not the highest likelihood of success, but worth the shot. I would still mail dc, boston, chicago, Texas, and west coast. Never know who might biteAnonymous User wrote:If you've blanketed NYC v100 already, what is there to do? I'm above median, lower t13, and haven't gotten any bites.
