How do you know that? I have 2 CBs and 1 screener in NYC and I have not told anyone I go to school with. I assumed a lot of people would just be tight lipped about this, but am I incorrect and everyone is telling everyone else about their CBs?Anonymous User wrote:I know that no one from that school in DC has gotten a CB or a screener or an offer. So.

That is completely plausible as I did the same thing. The only person who knew was my career services and some older mentors.Anonymous User wrote:How do you know that? Top 15% at CCN, have applied to about 12 firms in V15 but have been radio silence except for one. Is this normal?

For those who have heard back from Morgan Lewis NY, what was the turnaround time?

Re: Pre-OCI 2018
Depends on the firm. Some took longer to get back to me, but the longest was 5 days. One firm has been silent, but has been less than a week too. Some firms will let you know that they are not interviewing but will help you secure one at OCI if you aren’t successful.Anonymous User wrote:New York. I have similar stats in a similar school situation.

I had one V10 get back to me after almost 3 weeks. They're busy.Anonymous User wrote:Top 15% at CCN, have applied to about 12 firms in V15 but have been radio silence except for one. Is this normal?

I’ve had some firms get back to me in a few weeks, but two firms got back to me the same day

Agree with the rest - wouldn't read into wait time. 1) They're busy. 2) You can't do anything about it.

Re: Pre-OCI 2018
recruiting departments are overwhelmed right now (current SA class events; scheduling OCI, fielding mass-mailers; preparing for incoming first year associates to take the bar/get offices, etc). It all falls in the same few months so this time of year is hectic for them

I emailed these firms (Duke student below median) and got nothing.Anonymous User wrote:Then you must be at the other school then. I have no reason to make up a random list on here. Dang man this sucks. I even networked with people at firms.
I need to stop being so optimistic and realize my grades hold me down.

Or just pick yourself up and keep grinding. It’s much easier to give up than to keep reaching out, setting up phone calls, coffee meets, and networking hard for your shot. If you have a specific goal in mind though you gotta keep after it

I have a "perfect" resume - tippy-top grades from HYS, law review, brand-name summer internship, couple years at a McKinsey/Bain/BCG - and am still waiting on a couple NY firms a week after applying. 0% chance I was dinged. It's busy, and it's June. People need to chill out.Anonymous User wrote:I disagree. Re: Pre-OCI 2018
Does anyone have any insight on how much it could help for a partner to personally pass your resume on to recruiting?
I recently met a partner at a networking event, had coffee with him a few days later, and he then asked for my resume and passed it on. He is not the office's hiring partner so my gut instinct is that it is helpful (and I am very thankful for it) but does not guarantee anything, but it would be helpful to get others insight/experiences with similar situations. Thanks.

SullCrom, DPW, Simpson. Like I said before, pointless to try and divine some sort of meaning from this. CSM is equally "prestigious" and got back to me extremely quickly. It's June, firms are busy. If I hear back, cool, if I don't, I'll just interview with them at EIP.Anonymous User wrote:Curious who you are waiting on with that resume.Anonymous User wrote:I have a "perfect" resume - tippy-top grades from HYS, law review, brand-name summer internship, couple years at a McKinsey/Bain/BCG - and am still waiting on a couple NY firms a week after applying. 0% chance I was dinged.
