I'm gonna need some advice. I go to a regional law school and managed to get an SA position for two summers at a regional firm. The firm is pretty known in the area and has some offices out of the state. They offered me to go back for my 2l summer but I'm not so sure if they will be able to sponsor me for an H1B visa. I haven't heard from them regarding the possibility of such and it gives me anxiety thinking about spending my second summer at the firm when it's uncertain if I can stay and work with them after graduation. Can this be a sign that they aren't open to the possibility of sponsoring me and should start looking for other firms as early as now? I know that looking for a job as a 3l can be really tough but if I can do damage control, I'll do it as early as now.
Also, I'd like to know if there are successful H1B stories sponsored by their firms? Did they do it twice (given the lottery chances)?
Thanks! All responses/advice are appreciated.

Re: Regional Biglaw SA Waiting for Possible H1B Sponsorship
The firm probably wont decide about sponsoring you if they don’t even know if they will hire you yet. You can maybe ask them if they will at least consider it, or do research on their other applications, if any. That information is publicly available. Even if they do sponsor you, you might not win the lottery. Most firms don’t guarantee work for the next year if you reapply or transfer you overseas, if you don’t get a visa.Anonymous User wrote:I'm gonna need some advice. The reality is that due to the oversupply of lawyers, it’s easy to find another qualified body to do a first years job.
People hate hearing this but marrying a US citizen in a legitimate marriage is the best way to stay here and work with a green card.

Re: Regional Biglaw SA Waiting for Possible H1B Sponsorship
OP: you need to be more specific, there isnt a thing called reginal biglaw. If you are hired in a class as a summer, there will be people reaching out to you to get your H1B settled. When I was hired, two days later, before the attorney paperwork was due, I was reached out by the firm to see if I need sponsorship, when in fact i did not even need it.
