Number of Entry Level Attorneys on NALP

Post by datenginedatcould » Sun May 27, 2018 8:57 pm

Why do some firms have a higher number of summer associates versus how many join the firm as entry level attorneys? I noticed this difference on NALP. Is this common to most firms or something to be wary of?

Simply said, some firms have a bigger SA program. The main thing to take notice of is their offered percentage. A record of 100% offered is key. Nothing more depressing than being “no-offered.”

Some of the difference will be people who are doing clerkships - they do the summer program but don't enter with the rest of their class.

Clerkships; public interest; people who split the summer between two firms; people who also summered at a different firm 1L summer.... nothing to worry about
