Invited to Office - what to wear?
I'm a 1L. I cold e-mailed an alum to set up a coffee meeting to talk about his work experience and the firm he works for. He invited me to his office; what should I wear?

Business casual at most; jeans and a nice top would probably be fine too (blouse for women ; button down for men).

If it’s a biglaw office, don’t wear jeans. Don’t wear jeans anywhere, actually.
Rule of thumb is to NOT be underdressed compared to the person you’re meeting. The safest way to do this is by wearing a suit. If you’re a female, probably wearing a nice dress or two piece (pants suits included) is preferable.
If you’re coming from your internship and your internship is business casual, maybe slacks and a button-up or the female equivalent.
But DO NOT wear jeans.

Yeah, this is terrible advice, especially since we don't have more facts like "hey it's San Diego and the firm is notoriously casual." I mean, wow. OP, assuming it's a big firm in major market, 100% wear a suit. If not, still wear a suit, unless you have a really compelling reason not to do so.
