McDermott Will & Emery - pick practice area before starting?

Someone told me that McDermott requires people to know what practice area they are going in before starting as a summer associate. Is that true?

When I went through the interview process in 2014, you actually interviewed for a position in a specific group at the callback stage. That was the main reason I didn't do a callback. Not sure if it's changed since - hopefully someone else knows.

My interview with them as a 2L was for a specific group. This was 2 years ago.
