About a month ago, a friend submit my materials to their firm in case a position opened up.
A week after my friend submitted my app internally, I started using a recruiter who has since gotten me a few interviews. My friend's firm is now inquiring about an interview. How does this work with the recruiter? Do I just tell them that I had a pre-existing application and that's that?
Curious because interviewing with either firm will require travel and I would like to schedule both firms' interviews at the same time. The firms will inevitably want to split costs and the recruiter will inevitably find out.

Re: Recruiter Protocol for Pre-Existing Apps
Not really sure what the question is. You presumably never agreed to apply to jobs exclusively with that recruiter. And you’re only “locked in” with a recruiter for 3 (I think) months if they submit you for a position.
