Boies Hudson yards
Does anyone know what the office configuration at Hudson yards will be? Open office? Not?

No private offices for associates. Everyone's in the bullpen.Anonymous User wrote:Any word on this?Anonymous User wrote:anyone know about this? Any word on when they're moving?Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone know what the office configuration at Hudson yards will be? Open office? Not?

So Boies is now a firm with brutal hours but only average compensation, lacking even the most basic amenities that subpar biglaw firms give their associates. Why would anyone work here?Anonymous User wrote:No private offices for associates. Everyone's in the bullpen.Anonymous User wrote:Any word on this?Anonymous User wrote:anyone know about this? No f-ing way (I say, knowing fully that this is soon to be the reality of NYC biglaw).Anonymous User wrote:No private offices for associates. Everyone's in the bullpen.

Does anyone else in NY actually do this? I thought it was a fad that passed like five years ago when everyone realized it makes no sense at a law firm.Anonymous User wrote:No f-ing way (I say, knowing fully that this is soon to be the reality of NYC biglaw).Anonymous User wrote:No private offices for associates. This is accurate, for associates at all levels, per BSF NYC associate. Not sure where you're getting your information or when you got it, but this was announced very recently.Anonymous User wrote:This is not accurateAnonymous User wrote:No private offices for associates. yeah with associates in offices (or not offices) full of glass, you're not being super clear.

Sorry. Previous anon here. I am backing up the original statement that there will not be private offices for associates, per a BSF NYC associate.Anonymous User wrote:Which one are you saying is accurateAnonymous User wrote:This is accurate, for associates at all levels, per BSF NYC associate. Is there a single other law firm that does this? The closest I've heard is a firm doing it for first and second-year associates. Keeping senior associates in cubicles just sounds degrading.

Yea I can only think of PH, which has first/second-years in "end zones." Can't think of any other firms that've moved to cubicles for any level of associate. Hopefully this doesn't take off as a trend, because it sounds awful. Not so much for lack of privacy (we all know firms monitor our computers anyway) but the sheer noise and difficulty of doing conference calls.Anonymous User wrote:Is there a single other law firm that does this?
