2L here, and former commercial insurance professional. It is time to renew my license (as in, today, I have been trying to prepare for finals and it snuck op on me), and I am wondering if I should spend the time and money (even though it is small - I think I have 3 hours of CE to do and the fee is less than $200). I have a SA position at a firm I am really excited about, and will have the opportunity to try out insurance recovery practice. Does anyone see a reason why I would need my license down the road? Insurance test is not something I want to ever have to take again, but I also do not know that it is worth renewing every two years (in the future, I will have much more CE to do - I am lucky this time to have done quite a bit right before I left my job and started law school).
I asked someone at the firm I am joining and the response was something like, "sure, would never hurt."
My areas of interest are all within litigation. Thanks.
