Smaller firm callback --> offer?
Hi all, I interviewed with a smaller NYC firm last week for a callback. It took about a week to receive a callback from the initial interviewer and then it took a few weeks to schedule it. At the callback I thought it went well, I met with multiple attorneys over a 3 hour period. I was told that hopefully decisions would be made on how many people to hire and who they would be on Monday. Then I was told a partner would be in touch if I received an offer but not necessarily that day. I'm getting nervous because I know offers are normally extended immediately after a hiring meeting and I'm wondering if I should lose hope? The firm is about 25 lawyers but new and growing. Also I have some experience so not a straight from school posting either. Help is appreciated, thanks!

Re: Smaller firm callback --> offer?
I wouldn't say to lose hope, considering they took a few weeks to even schedule your callback, but after callbacks, firms want to lock in offers with their best candidates ASAP so if you don't hear anything by early or mid-next week, it may mean they are going to the top choices of candidates and may have you as a backup candidate.
