diversity job fairs...timing? Forum

hi,
i noticed that some diversity fairs i was interested in are hosted mid-summer
whereas my schools OCI is in the beginning of august

say i get an offer during a diversity fair in mid-summer will i be allowed to delay my response to the offer until after my schools OCI?
if i do accept a offer at the diversity fair.....can i still attend OCI and cancel my original offer if i get a better offer?

and how exaclty do callbacks work with diversity fairs do they take place soon after the fair or do employers wait until august for callbacks?
because i will be working in mid-summer i guess i would have to request off if the callbacks take place in mid-summer?

1. You have until 30 days after the start of your OCI to accept any offer you get from these diversity fairs.
2. You can schedule callbacks whenever. I had a few callbacks in the middle of the summer. Earlier is better than later. You should take off work to go to callbacks.
3. You can always reneg on offers you accept. It'll piss the firm you renegged on, but it's a thing that you could do. I would try to not do it though. Firms usually give offers soon after callbacks. Don't hold out for your dream firm if it's been a few weeks and they haven't called.

One more thing: don't double bid firms. If you are interviewing with a firm at the diversity fair, don't interview with them again at OCI. If they didn't offer you from the diversity fair, they aren't going to offer you at OCI either.
