Proskauer Rose salary
Hey my brother works at Proskauer Rose in New York. He's an associate. How much do the partners make there? I'm just really curious.

Proskauer reported profits per partner of around $2.1 million in 2016. That doesn't mean every partner makes that amount. Some make more, some make less. The full spread isn't reported

OK so if a partner makes 2.1 million in profit what percentage of that goes to revenue? I know it differentiates if you make more or less, but what are we looking at? 30-40%?

I'll answer what I think you're asking...
Total firm revenues (money in) - total firm expenses (money out) = total firm profits (money remaining) for the year.
Total firm profits divided by total number of equity partners = profits per partner for the year.
Take home pay for each partner is distributed from that pool on the basis of however the firm has decided to distribute compensation among equity partners. At Proskauer, if every partner had taken home the same amount in 2016 (which they didn't), then each would have earned $2.1 million of pretax income.

Your brother makes much, much less than that, probably $200-300k depending on how many years he’s been there.

Partners in Newark, NOLA and Boca Raton are not making anywhere near that. Rainmakers in NY are probably making double.

Don’t be so sure about that. Proskauer Nola has one of the top Erisa attorneys in the country. One of only partners in that office and certainly makes at least their ppp amount and most likely more. That’s just one example. Junior equity partners - nyc or otherwise - are the ones who are making less.2013 wrote:Partners in Newark, NOLA and Boca Raton are not making anywhere near that.
