V20 firms in NYC taking first-year corporate laterals?
Curious if anyone is aware of any V20 firms in NYC who may have underhired for the c/o 2017 and would be likely to consider a lateral applicant for their general corporate group/rotations.

Corporate is very busy right now all over New York. These are the firms I would apply to--these are all excellent firms and most have work right now from what I understand.

Any input on how some of the other v10s are faring right now? Curious because I'd imagine there would be high turnover and thus more positions.HarrisonBarnes wrote:Corporate is very busy right now all over New York. Getting hired as a first-year in your position is often a product of "luck" and being in the right place at the right time. In my experience, the best way for you to get hired is going to be to approach as many firms as you can. A certain person in the firm will see your school, experience, extracurricular activities and the like and just decide they are interested in you due to something that jumps out at them. The firms that have advertised openings will also be flooded with applicants from people like you--who may have gone to better schools and have better backgrounds. If you try and reach out to firms that do not have openings you will likely have better luck.
