I was wondering if anyone on these forums has experience going from biglaw to being in house at a media & entertainment company (e.g., Disney, Fox, Viacom, etc.)? If so, how has your experience compared with your expectations? From an outsiders perspective, these gigs seem like a sweet deal for someone who's generally interested in media/entertainment and wants to escape the rigors of biglaw. But I can also see how the work itself could be dull, repetitive or stressful, and the personalities may be tough to deal with.
Any insight into work, hours, benefits, pay, and lifestyle (especially compared to biglaw) would be greatly appreciated.

FWIW I have heard from friends that NBC is notoriously soul-crushing.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Any specific reason why it’s soul crushing? Like hours or people?1styearlateral wrote:FWIW I have heard from friends that NBC is notoriously soul-crushing.

I think they just are too coporate-y and a lot of people jump ship to the companies listed in the OP. I don't have personal experience though, and not limited to the legal department, so YMMV.Anonymous User wrote:Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Any specific reason why it’s soul crushing?
