Have you ever been placed on probation, dropped, suspended, expelled or otherwise been subjected to
discipline by any institution of learning above elementary school level for conduct which might reflect upon
your character?

The lawyer answer is does that conduct reflect on you now?
The safe answer is disclose.

I think I'm just going to disclose, but I'm asking whether I should be worried? Or is this standard? Like it happened over ten years ago..

The bolded makes this a fairly easy "disclose" call. And, no, I don't think you have serious reason for worry.Anonymous User wrote:Have you ever been placed on probation, dropped, suspended, expelled or otherwise been subjected to

This is one of those freebie C&F questions. C&F almost certainly won't give a crap about this, so by disclosing you are giving yourself credibility (e.g., if s/he told the truth about this stupid high school thing, they are probably telling truth about everything else).
Obviously, I've never been in C&F folk's shoes, so idk their thought process -- but this would certainly be mine.

Different anon - what if the high school incident had to do with plagiarism on an essay. Happened as a freshman in high school, like 12 years ago. Going to disclose, but wondering what to expect. Planning to explain the incident and note that I learned a lesson from it etc. No other incidents in my file, for what it’s worth. Thoughts?

If you did it in undergrad, it would be a significant issue. If you did it in law school, it would probably be disqualifying.Anonymous User wrote:Different anon - what if the high school incident had to do with plagiarism on an essay. But as a freshman in high school? I think it's unlikely to be a problem.

I honestly don't think plagiarism even in undergrad is a big deal if rehab is shown. Maybe an issue in law school, but even then it's excusable if it's an isolated incident.rpupkin wrote:If you did it in undergrad, it would be a significant issue. No joke I knew someone in law school who was convicted of embezzlement as a trader, and he still passed C&F. We even have convicted murders practicing.

I guess your state is different, but getting caught cheating in law school is a lot bigger than a "maybe an issue" problem for California C&F.Anonymous User wrote:I honestly don't think plagiarism even in undergrad is a big deal if rehab is shown.
