OCI Strikeout Question
2L at a T20, top 25% but no journal/moot court. Struck out at OCI and one interview that didn't result in a callback out of mass mailing. I have a corporate/bankruptcy interest. Thinking about applying for in-house jobs at banks or financial firms. I've seen people reference these jobs in other posts without going into too much detail. Any thoughts/advice? Thanks.

Yes, you should be applying to these jobs. As well as continuing to mass-mail firms in locations you wouldn't mind living in.Anonymous User wrote:2L at a T20, top 25% but no journal/moot court. Re: OCI Strikeout Question
A good BK clerkship is an option worth thinking about here, depending on your level of interest in BK.

Re: OCI Strikeout Question
Was in same boat with same stats. If high BK interest, take BK (assuming you haven't), and do an externship with a BK judge, Duberstein, and then look for a clerkship. As for summer jobs, can also look into BK boutiques. Since you said corporate/BK, I assume you prefer Ch. 11 > consumer work so start there. Might not be SA but summer law clerk. Then, hopefully you can land a clerkship or the market heats up sufficiently 1 year from now and firms start hiring more 3Ls into restructuring.
Edit: I'm in no way advocating 3L OCI/MM but just a small/narrow possibility.
I'm all-in on BK so just purely BK advice.

Re: OCI Strikeout Question
I was in exactly your position (except focused very specifically on bankruptcy) a couple years ago and am now a first year corporate restructuring associate. Feel free to PM with any questionsAnonymous User wrote:2L at a T20, top 25% but no journal/moot court. Struck out at OCI and one interview that didn't result in a callback out of mass mailing.
